It is PLDT-Smart’s Fourth 5G-enabled location
As part of its push to expand 5G connectivity in the Philippines, PLDT-Smart deploys 5G at Araneta City, Cubao, Quezon City. This is PLDT-Smart’s third 5G-enabled location in the Philippines and the telco’s first 5G lifestyle hub.
Prior to Araneta City, PLDT-Smart deployed 5G towers in Clark, Pampanga and at the PLDT office in Makati. In addition, it has also deployed 5G at Ateneo de Manila University—the first 5G-enabled campus in the country.
During the launch at Gateway Mall, PLDT-Smart demonstrated the potential of 5G that include virtual reality, cloud gaming, and improved mobile internet speeds. “5G is a versatile technology that can provide a more flexible and powerful platform for entirely new services,” PLDT Chief Technology and Information Advisor Joachim Horn said.
On top of 5G deployment at Gateway Mall, Smart has rolled out Google WiFi stations in key areas in Cubao that include Gateway Mall, Smart Araneta Coliseum, New Frontier Theater, and Araneta City bus station.
