Huawei Mate 10 First Shots: Photo Walk in QC Circle

It’s just as good as the more expensive Mate 10 Pro

While we’ve already given you an in-depth review of Huawei’s Mate 10 Pro, many of you are probably waiting for us to finish our evaluation of its more affordable brother. The Mate 10 is one of the most affordable flagship devices announced locally, which is a breath of fresh air considering all the above 40K flagships that have been popping up everywhere.

And while the Mate 10 has a lower price tag than the Mate 10 Pro, you’ll be happy to know that the phone still has the same excellent cameras that are present in the more expensive version. Both phones share the 20-megapixel + 12-megapixel rear camera that’s equipped with Leica Summilux-H f/1.6 lenses, making for really awesome shots no matter the lighting condition.

With that, we present to you our first shots taken with the Huawei Mate 10. No shots have been retouched in photo editing software, and all photos here have not been resized for better scrutiny.

This shot is our favorite of the bunch. It shows the awesome dynamic range that the Mate 10 is capable of.
Playing around with the bokeh mode of the phone. The Mate 10 has better bokeh application than previous iterations, though it still has trouble with complex shapes on the periphery
Another bokeh shot, this time it came out better since the software applied the blur on all the right places.
Regular shot with no bokeh applied, shot on auto.
Low-light shot, taken with very low ambient light. The Mate 10’s still able to take a decent photo with minimal noise.
Selfie shot using portrait mode. Bokeh is pretty convincing, which wasn’t the case with the P10 or P10 Plus before.
With plenty of light, the Mate 10 is able to take fantastic shots of whatever you’re shooting.

That’s pretty much it for this first shots article. We’re neck-deep in our review of the Mate 10 – come back in a few days to read our full review!
