LG Made A Facemask With A Built-in Air Purifier

COVID-19 isn’t going away soon, which means there’s more than enough opportunity for brands to create products to help us fight the modern plague. LG is doing just that with its new PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier, which uses air purification tech to get rid of airborne nasties floating around that could harm you.

The mask uses a pair of three-speed fans and two HEPA-style filters to clean the air before it reaches you. The mask is smart enough to detect how fast you’re breathing and adjusts the speed of the fan accordingly, managing the volume of the air inside.

The mask is powered by an 820mAh battery and has enough juice to run for 8 hours on a single charge. LG has also designed a clever storage system that’s filled with disinfecting UV lights to keep the mask clean when you’re using it.

LG isn’t specifically marketing the mask to combat the new virus, though it’s not hard to imagine that this was made just for that purpose. No price has been set for this new mask as of yet – we’re sure the company will be announcing more details during IFA in the next few weeks.
