Two New Mid-Ranged Offerings from Cloudfone

Cloudfone recently unveiled two phones to battle it out in the mid-ranged category: the Cloudfone Excite Prime 2 and the Cloudfone Excite Prime 2 Pro. With their eyes set on the consumers looking for a great camera experience on their mobile devices, the local brand made a huge effort so that you can enjoy sharing your snaps with your friends without breaking the bank. Let’s have a look at their specs before we go further.

Let’s talk about the cameras first. Since the brand understands that there’s still a need to cater to the selfie-centric crowd, they have armed both the Excite Prime 2 and Excite Prime 2 Pro with front cameras that have portrait mode to get that software-assisted bokeh effect we’ve been seeing on a lot of devices so far. Since image quality tends to fall apart as lighting conditions go South, Cloudfone has also included an LED flash on its selfie shooters so you have to worry less about getting pictures of yourself at night.

As for its main shooters, you’re getting a 13-megapixel on both smartphones, but the Excite Prime 2 Pro has a secondary 8-megapixel rear shooter, as well a Sony IMX 376 sensor (the Prime 2 has the IMX 375 sensor). As you normally see on phones sporting dual cameras, you also have portrait mode on the rear cameras on the Excite Prime 2 Pro to get the effect of a shallow depth-of-field.

In terms of internals, it’s pretty much night and day. The Excite Prime 2 has a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage, while the Excite Prime 2 Pro sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. Both devices are juiced up by a 3000mAh battery and you’re getting Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box too.

For pricing, the Cloudfone Excite Prime 2 has been priced at Php 5,999 and will be available at their kiosks this month. If you’re curious about the price of the Excite Prime 2 Pro, they haven’t released the pricing and availability for the device just yet; we wouldn’t be surprised if it was below the Php 10,000 mark though.
