Finally, local pricing for ASUS’ new phones!
Just two days after their global launch in Taipei, Taiwan, ASUS has officially launched their new ZenFone 4 series of smartphones in the Philippines. Over the years its become clear that the Philippines has become a crucial battleground for the Taiwanese company for its smartphone lineup, which means we get first dibs on the new series of smartphones ahead of everyone else.
And without further ado, here are the official Philippine pricing for the phones of ASUS:
ASUS ZenFone 4 Max 5.5-inch: Php 9,995
ASUS ZenFone Selfie: Php 13,995
ASUS ZenFone Selfie Pro: Php 18,995
ASUS ZenFone 4: Php 28,995
ASUS ZenFone 4 Pro: Php 39,995
Obviously the ZF4 Max is the most affordable of the bunch, and is priced pretty competitively at Php 9995, just a hair under 10K. The ZenFone 4 Selfie’s price is an obvious indicator that ASUS is looking to take on Chinese rivals Vivo and OPPO in the same mid-range selfie battle ground that they’ve traditionally enjoyed dominance in. The ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro is a little more interesting, since it’s priced right at the same level as the ZenFone 3 previously, which may indicate a shift in positioning for the ZenFone 4.
Speaking of the ZenFone 4, it’s now priced higher, at Php 28,995, which puts it in a more premium position this time around. And the ZenFone 4 Pro? At its premium price point, it’s obvious that ASUS is looking to challenge the high-end dominance of premium brands like Samsung, LG and Huawei. The question remains: will they succeed in wooing customers over at that high price bracket.
