The strange-sounding company was started by Pei last October after his departure from OnePlus. Nothing’s press release describes their mission as “to remove barriers between people and technology to create a seamless digital future.”
“We believe that the best technology is beautiful, yet natural and intuitive to use. When sufficiently advanced, it should fade into the background and feel like nothing.”
If that’s not convincing enough, Pei announced last December that is latest venture has already received $7 million in funding from prominent personalities like:
- Former Nest CEO and iPod inventor Tony Fadell
- Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin
- Reddit CEO and co-founder Steve Huffman
- Product Hunt CEO Josh Buckley
- YouTuber Casey Neistat
While there are no details as to what products they will offer, Nothing is expected to launch its first smart devices by the first half of 2021.
