OPPO to Launch the OPPO F5 in the Philippines Soon
A few days ago, we got a peek of a mysterious OPPO smartphone by Star Magic celebrities. It started with Gretchen Ho:
Then later on with Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia:
In the said posts, these Star Magic Artists received a premium black box, containing a yet-unknown glossy black OPPO smartphone with a single rear camera and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, along with an invite asking the said artists to use the phone (An OPPO F5, not an OPPO F5 Plus as reported by other sources) to take a selfie with their crush during the 11th Star Magic Ball.
If you ask us, that’s one cheeky way to introduce a new phone to the country: asking celebs to use it to take a selfie with their crush (gusto ko ng selfie din with Gretchen Ho, hehe =)) ). Little is known yet about the F5, save for a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a dual front camera setup like the F3, a 6-inch 18:9 display that is rumored to sport thin bezels, and Android Nougat.
As for the naming convention, it seems that OPPO goes for an odd number branding scheme: Starting with the F1, F1 Plus and F1S, then the F3 and F3 Plus, and now with the F5.
How will OPPO top their successful F3 line? We will have to wait for the coming days—specifically on September 30 during the Star Magic Ball—to know more about the F5. As for the launch of the F5, Julia and Joshua hinted that it will happen sometime in October.
