As a follow up to the realme GT last month, the brand announced another variant called the GT Neo, with this variant rocking a Dimensity 1200 processor instead.
realme GT Neo Specs:
- Dimensity 1200 processor
- 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM
- 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage
- 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, 120hz refresh rate, 360hz touch sampling rate, support for HDR10+ and DCI-P3
- 64-megapixel f/1.8 main camera with PDAF, 2-megapixel f/2.4 macro camera, 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera
- 16-megapixel selfie camera
- 4G, 5G
- WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.1, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers
- 4500mAh battery
- 50w fast charging
- Android 11, realme UI 2.0
The first notable difference with the GT Neo is its use of MediaTek’s latest 6nm 5G processor that rocks a Cortex-A78 prime core running at 3.0Ghz, three Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.6Ghz, and four Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0Ghz. While they appear to be better than the Snapdragon 888 because of the higher-clocked cores, but we have yet to see actual benchmark tests comparing the two 2021 flagship processors. A dual graphite plate and a liquid cooling solution help keep the temperature of the GT Neo’s internals stable.
For charging speeds, the GT Neo tones it down with a 50w wired charging solution for its 4500mAh battery. It is not a bad compromise either, as realme will be including a 65w charger out of the box. To distinguish it from the Snapdragon 888-powered GT, the GT Neo has a monochrome sticker running through the back panel that emits a holographic pattern.
Save for those differences, the GT Neo is virtually identical to the vanilla GT.
