The Nokia 8 Flagship Sports a Snapdragon 835 and Dual Rear Carl Zeiss Cameras

Powerful hardware and powerful cameras in a premium Nokia package

HMD Global Oy has just unwrapped their first flagship handset, the Nokia 8. This premium smartphone boasts a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage expandable to 256GB through a microSD card.

The Nokia 8’s most unique feature is its dual rear cameras composed of Carl Zeiss optics. Two 13-megapixel rear cameras – a color sensor working in tandem with a monochrome one – will be working as the phone’s main snappers. The handset’s single front camera is also of Carl Zeiss make, allowing users to take quality selfies as well.

An interesting new app in the Nokia 8 is the “bothie”, where the selfie and dual rear cameras are used to capture a “much fuller image.” How that exactly works, we’ll have to find out when we get our hands on a review unit.
