The Nubia X Ditches the Front Camera for a Secondary Display

The best all-screen approach to date?

In the quest for a notch-free phone, brands have resorted to incorporating pop-up cameras and sliding mechanisms to maintain a true all-screen design. The guys at Nubia think otherwise: with the Nubia X, the Chinese brand ditched the front camera and placed a secondary display at the back instead. The result? A dual-screen phone free of any moving parts.

The Nubia X’s design consists of a 6.26-inch Full HD+ LCD front display and a 5.1-inch HD+ OLED rear display. Since you have a decent display in the back, there’s no need for a front camera. Instead, Nubia slapped the Nubia X with 16-megapixel f/1.8 and 24-megapixel f/1.7 rear cameras.

Since you have two screens, Nubia relocated the fingerprint scanner to both sides of the phone, so you can unlock it in either direction. Another cool feature of the two fingerprint scanners is that they function as navigation buttons as well.

Of course, the Nubia X boasts of flagship features that include a Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 8GB RAM, up to 256GB internal storage, a large 3800mAh battery with quick charging, and Android Oreo out of the box.
