Vivo To Bring Entry-Level Y71 to The Philippines

A new affordable 18:9 phone joins the fray

After it was spotted in Shopee Malaysia a few days ago, we got confirmation that Vivo will be bringing the Y71 to our shores soon. The arrival of the Y71 was confirmed by Vivo Philippines Vice President Hazel Bascon in a post:

While it looks similar to the V7+, the Y71 has a few downgrades in order to make it more affordable while still using the V7+’s 5.99-inch HD+ display and face unlock. In spite of some of the downgrades, the upside with the Y71 is that it sports a slightly larger battery and comes with Android Oreo out of the box.

Here’s a quick recap of its specs:

Vivo Y71 Specs

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor
  • 3GB of RAM
  • Adreno 308 GPU
  • 5.99-inch HD+ display; 1440 x 720 resolution
  • 16GB of expandable storage (up to 256GB)
  • 13-megapixel rear camera with AF and LED flash
  • 5-megapixel front camera
  • 3G, LTE
  • Dual SIM
  • WiFi, Bluetooth
  • GPS, A-GPS
  • 3285mAh battery
  • Android 8.0 Oreo with FunTouch OS 5.0

There are no details yet on the official release and pricing of the Y71 as of this writing. However, if we base it on its pricing in Malaysia, expect the Y71 to be priced at around Php 10.8k.
