Xiaomi Unveils Revamped Mi Smart Band 6

The Mi Smart Band 6 was unveiled at Xiaomi Mega Launch on Monday. The fitness band gets improvements from its previous version with a bigger screen, and improved battery life. Check out the new features:

  • 1.56″ AMOLED display – The Smart band’s new 152 x 486 resolution panel is a 50% increase in size compared to the Mi Smart Band 5. The long oval-shaped display is inspired by the shape of a running track.
  • 30 Sports modes 
  • 6 Fitness activity modes 
  • Health monitoring features – PPG heart rate sensor, sleep breathing quality monitor, female health-tracking, PAI (Personal Activity Intelligence),  an Sp02 sensor, a 3-axis accelerometer, and a 3-axis gyroscope sensor.
  • Blood oxygen saturation tracking – This is a new feature that can monitor blood oxygen while you’re training or sleeping.
  • 130+ band display options – The Smart Band 6 comes with plenty of display options to choose from on top of the fact that users can also create a custom band display using any photo of their liking. They also have a special animated Spongebob-themed display that’s made for younger users.
  • 6 color band variants – silicone bands come in black, orange, yellow, olive, ivory, blue
  • Waterproof design – This new version is made to withstand water up to 50 meters, which means you can wear this watch while you swim or shower.
  • 14-day battery life – The standard battery life of the Smart Band 6 is 2 weeks which can be extended up to 19 days on power-saving mode.

There is also a special edition NFC variant which lets the user use the band to pay for public transport or pay bills, think Beep card that you can use beyond the bus or the train.

The Mi Smart Band 6 retails for CNY 229 (Php 2,2K) while its NFC special edition is priced at CNY 279 (Php 2k.) It’s possible that we might see the Smart Band 6 available locally along with the newly announced Mi 11 versions, but as of now there is no local pricing for them.
