The Government Hands Out One Month Suspension To Uber

The government asks for Uber to extend financial assitance to its drivers

Uber has been handed a heavy blow today, as the Land Transportation , Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has announced that they are suspending the accreditation of Uber for a month, which also covers their booking application currently used in their smartphones.

The LTFRB has also recommended that Uber extend financial assistance to all the drivers that are under the system during that time, with the agency placing all blame on the ride sharing app,  saying that their peer operators would not have suffered if not for the predatory actions of Uber.

The LTFRB has instructed the MMDA, the Philippine National Police’s Highway Patrol Group, Land Transportation Office and LTFRB enforces to carry out the suspension.
