2022 Suzuki Celerio: The Answer to Your Fuel Price Woes

The Suzuki Celero is a car that’s hard not to love. It’s simple, cute, and tiny, not to mention it gets the job done—little tasks to be exact. With the 2022 Celerio, Suzuki decided to make the hatchback even more adorable, fuel-efficient, and somehow bigger. Let’s see how big the changes are.

“The all-new Celerio ticks all the boxes of customer expectation with an unmatched driving experience, unrivaled fuel efficiency, and a host of features that offer comfort, convenience, and safety at an attractive price,” said Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited.

Dimension-wise, the new model is 95mm longer, 55mm wider, and 15mm taller than the outgoing model. It is now 3695mm long, 1655mm wide, and 1555mm tall. Even the wheelbase is longer by 10mm, giving it a 2,435mm wheelbase. Although this improvement in size is barely noticeable to the naked eye, improvements such as the new bold headlights, bigger grille, sportier front bumper,  larger taillights, and new tailgate are hard to overlook. In addition, there’s a new set of black alloy wheels that are complemented by well-defined wheel arches.

Moving on to the interior, there are many things that are new as well, such as the dashboard, infotainment system, aircon vents, instrument panel, gear selector, and the steering wheel with multimedia controls. The interior theme is all-black up to the fabric seats, although there’s a touch of chrome here and there. Moreover, Suzuki claims that this new interior is more spacious than before, especially the rear legroom and shoulder room.

Underneath the hood is a new-generation K10C engine, which is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine capable of 66 PS and 89 Nm of torque. It comes with Dualjet technology for better thermal efficiency, dual fuel injectors for a smoother performance, and automatic start-stop technology to improve fuel economy. You can pair this new engine to a five-speed manual or a five-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) also known as Auto Gear Shift. On average, the 2022 Suzuki Celerio is capable of 26.68km per liter of fuel which is truly exceptional, and also important as fuel prices have been surging lately.

Safety is not a concern as it comes with anti-lock brakes (ABD) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), dual front airbags, speed-sensitive door locks, manual headlight leveling, reverse parking sensors, and hill-hold assist.
