ASUS Slashes Price Of RTX 2000 Series Cards

If you still have cash leftover from yesterday’s 9/9 sales, ASUS wants to change that. The company has drastically slashed pricing for their RTX 20 series cards, no doubt in preparation for the arrival of the new RTX 3000 series that will be arriving come September.

Some say that spending money on Turing-based GPUs at a time when NVIDIA is promising major performance gains via their new Ampere-based RTX 3000 series GPUs is a bad idea, but some may find the price cuts steep enough to justify the purchase.

Take the ROG Strix RTX 2080 Super, which has been cut down in price to almost half, from Php 49,510 to just Php 24,490. The Strix RTX 2080 S A8G also gets a similarly deep price cut, down to just Php 23,950 from Php 48,210.

RTX 2070 Super models also get price cuts, with the ROG Strix RTX 2070S A8G getting a Php 20,830 price from its original Php 34,460 SRP.

Pricing for RTX 2060 Supers have also been slashed, with the ROG Strix RTX 2060S dropping down to just Php 19,610 from its original Php 26,840 pricing.

NVIDIA’s RTX 3080 is set to arrive next week on Sept 17, which explains the massive price drop from ASUS. We’re expecting other companies and AIB partners like MSI, Palit and others to start slashing prices to get rid of Turing-based cards and to clear the way for new Ampere models, though it’s still unclear when Philippine customers will be able to get their hands on NVIDIA’s latest cards.
