Black Shark just launched its newest gaming smartphones, the 4S and 4S Pro. Although these new smartphones feature only a minor upgrade from the Black Shark 4 series, fans of the Gundam franchise would not want to miss the special edition called Black Shark 4S Gundam Limited Edition.

Starting with their similarities, the 4S and 4S Pro sport the same 6.67-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels (FHD+), a 144Hz refresh rate, and a 720Hz touch sampling rate. Other similarities are LPDDR5 RAM, MIUI-based JOYUI 12.8 operating system, and 4,5000mah battery. As for the battery, it supports 120W proprietary fast charging and it is compatible with other charging protocols like Qualcomm Quick Charge (QC) and USB Power Delivery (PD).

The major difference between the two is the processor. Unlike the Black Shark 4S which comes with the same old Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, the Black Shark 4S Pro comes with a newer and better Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+. This processor promises a performance boost that can surely be felt. 

Another difference can be found in the camera. Although both phones feature a horizontally-aligned triple rear camera setup with an 8MP 120° ultra-wide unit and a 5MP macro shooter, the primary sensor of the 4S is only 48MP while the 4S Pro is 64MP. Meanwhile, the selfie camera is the same for both, which is 20MP.

The other features of the new Black Shark 4S series are the side-mounted fingerprint sensor, RGB light, dual stereo speakers, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass, gyroscope, and barometer.

As mentioned, there is a special edition called the Black Shark 4S Gundam Limited Edition; thanks to a collaboration between Black Shark and Bandai Namco Holdings. 

The Black Shark 4S Gundam Limited Edition has a classic white, red, and blue color scheme. To make it even better,  the software has the same theme going around with custom wallpapers, icons, and boot animation. Even the protective case and retail box are Gundam-themed.

In China, the Black Shark 4S carries a price tag of CNY2,699 (Php 21,252) for the 8/128GB option, CNY2,999 (Php 23,614) for the 12/128GB variant, and CNY3,299 (Php 25,976) for the 12/256GB trim. On the other hand, the 4S Pro has a price of CNY4,799 (Php 37,788) for the 12/256GB variant and CNY5,499 (Php 43,300) for the 16/512GB variant. Available colors are black and white for both.

As of writing, the Gundam Edition is not yet for sale; however, it will soon be out in the market for CNY3,499 (Php 27,551) and will have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
