Dyson Enters Noise-Canceling Headphones Market with the Zone

While we know Dyson for their cordless vacuum cleaners and hairstyling products, the British brand is expanding its portfolio further with their first noise-canceling headphones. Initially revealed as a concept product early this year, the Dyson Zone combines both noise-canceling headphones and an air purifier in one device. Its unique design has prompted buzz even when it was a concept product, with people referencing Batman’s Bane.

The headphones come with custom 40mm, 16ohm drivers that aim to deliver a broad audio range, while its signal processing and eight microphones (and an additional three for transparency and telephone purposes) ensure a class-leading noise canceling feature that can filter up to 38db of noise. The Dyson Zone also boasts of up to 50 hours of use even with ANC on, along with automatic activation/deactivation for better power efficiency. When used with the Zone’s air purification feature, they are rated for up to 4 hours of use.

As for the air purification part of the Zone, the visor attaches to the headphones and delivers purified air to the nose and mouth–all without making contact with the face. The air purifier has a two-stage filtration system and an array of sensors to determine your movement speed to ensure the right airflow is delivered.

The Dyson Zone noise-canceling headphones will be launching in 2023 in selected markets.
