The Aftershokz Headphones is Your New Running Buddy

The Aftershokz Headphones is Your New Running Buddy

Last week, Aftershokz formally launched 2 headphones – the Aftershokz Trekz Titanium and the Aftershokz Trekz Air.  The brand is known among fitness enthusiasts for its bone conduction headphones with its open ear design. This allows runners to be aware of their surroundings while listening to their favorite tunes.

I’m no fitness expert but just like everyone else who is determined to be healthier and be more active, I put the headphones on and took them out for a spin.

Comfortable to Wear

The titanium, wrap-around design of Aftershokz is both durable and flexible.  From experience, I can say that they are incredibly comfortable to wear. They also offered a snug fit so I didn’t have to worry about the headphones falling off while I was running.

Safer for Runners

There are very few areas within the metro that are closed off to vehicles so most of the time, runners have to share the road with cars and bikes.  The OpenFit design of the Aftershokz headphones allows runners to be aware of their surroundings even as they listen to their favorite songs or podcasts, which is vital for their safety.

Awesome Audio

Let me qualify this.  It’s nothing like the audio quality of noise-canceling headphones and it shouldn’t be because you don’t want to be totally tuned out of the world while running.  The bone conduction technology transmits the audio waves to the inner ears through the skull, bypassing the eardrums completely. Still, you get pretty good audio quality which is just what you need to take your mind off the exhaustion and pain that you get while exercising.

Sweat Resistant

Aftershokz is rated IP55 so it is definitely built to power through sweat sessions and wicker weather.

Lasts Throughout a Long Workout

Get up to 6 hours of music play and talk time on a single charge.  That should be more than enough power to get you through your regular workout.

Goes with your #WOTD Outfit

The Aftershokz headphones come in 5 fun colors – slate, ocean, ivy, red and the color I picked, pink.  Now you can choose which one goes best with your usual workout of the day outfit.

The Aftershokz Trekz Titanium is priced at Php 5,690 and the Aftershokz Trekz Air (the lighter version) is priced at Php 8,590.  They are available at Digital Walker, Beyond the Box, Astroplus, Lazada, Shopee and other select retailers nationwide.
