Geely Philippines promised to launch new vehicles every six months for the coming years. This means the updated 2022 Geely Azkarra will be on our shores sooner or later as it has now been officially introduced in China. It is also getting a new variant called the X.
The 2022 Geely Azkarra has undergone major exterior updates. It now follows the new design philosophy of Geely. Same with the refreshed Geely Coolray and fourth-gen Emgrand, the new design is after Geely’s Vision Starburst Concept. For the Azkarra model, the brand designed it with a look dubbed as the “Energy Storm.” The front end has been revised using a completely new bumper which looks futuristic and stunning. For the new variant X, there are additional orange accents on the fog lamp cutouts, side running boards, and brake calipers. In addition, there are several chrome accents around the car, black roof rails, and a set of 19-inch black alloy wheels.
There are no major differences inside the refreshed model except for the two-tone blue-and-white color scheme and a new 12.3-inch infotainment system. Said infotainment now has a better processor known as Geely’s E01. Moreover, higher-end variants of the 2022 Geely Azkarra are getting Bose sound systems for a premium sound experience.
Performance is still the same as there are no changes under the hood, it still comes with either a 1.5-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder with 174 horsepower and 255 Nm or 1.8-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 184 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. However, according to reports, markets such as the Philippines will most likely get an unmodified mild-hybrid 1.5-liter engine.
For now, we just have to wait for the official update from Geely Philippines. Once this updated model has reached our shores, this will give the veteran competitors on the market a run for their money.
