So we’re on day 5 of our Globe Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini 4G Stick experience. We actually had a very good first day but sadly it’s all been downhill since then. Ever since typhoon Falcon passed through the country the speed of the 4G stick has been reduced to an average of 300-400kbps and an all-time high of just 1.5mbps. These are the results of our speed tests in Greenhills, Fort Bonifacio (26th St. and High Street), Kopiroti Katipunan (along Blue Ridge), and a coffee shop in Makati. In the 5 days we’ve been using the Tattoo Lamborghini stick we haven’t found an HSPA+ site yet to connect to which is a bit frustrating.

Hopefully though things are starting to normalize. We tried using it again tonight here in Greenhills and it’s registering an average of 900kbps-1.3mbps. Here’s a screenshot:

We received a couple of e-mails asking for us to do a speedtest during 6-8PM using a Singapore server. We did that tonight and here’s the result:

I’m really hoping that the speed improves in the next few days. I’ll do another round of tests in 2 days.

PS: I sent an e-mail to Globe’s PR and Social Media Manager to ask about this development. I was actually really happy already with the average 3.8-4mbps that I got on my first day. I’m hoping it goes back to that speed so that the Php2,100 monthly is worth every peso.
