Free internet access for Manilenos!
As part of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno’s efforts in reshaping Manila, PLDT and Smart partnered with the city government of Manila to provide free WiFi access to select areas in Manila.

This was confirmed through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing between Moreno and PLDT chair and CEO Manny V. Pangilinan, and Smart Chief Revenue Officer Alfredo S. Panlilio.
“By working hand-in-hand with the local government to bring Smart WiFi to more areas, we are making connectivity more accessible for everyone, who can use it to keep in touch with their families and friends, and to access key online government and banking services,” Panlilio said.
Free WiFi coverage will be provided initially in the following areas:
-Manila City Hall
-Ospital ng Maynila
-Tondo Medical Center
-Gat Andres Medical Center
-Universidad de Manila
-Museo Pambata
To use the free WiFi access, users will need to look for the “Google Station: Smart WiFi” hotspot at the areas mentioned above. Currently, Smart has installed over 400 Google WiFi stations around Metro Manila and plans to install more in the near future.
