Mobile World Congress 2013 Day 0!

We’re live here at the Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain for the 2013 Mobile World Congress! Registration was practically a breeze since all we had to do was show a barcode and passport and then we’re given our press passes. Another interesting innovation is the use of NFC badges. Instead of showing a photo ID we can just download the GSMA NFC app, validate it, and then just tap it at the NFC stations to go in and out of the venue. Talk about high tech, haha!

What to expect tonight
Tonight is the Media Welcome Reception Dinner. We’re told that there are no major announcements but we will be given a quick tour of the selected exhibitors. Tomorrow is the official first day of the congress and it will be kicked off with a press event by Nokia and then another media event by ASUS.
