Malacañang to Smart, Globe: Submit Reports on Service Improvement

After firmly requesting telco companies to improve their services by the end of the year, Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is asking both Smart and Globe to submit a report on the improvements they have made so far.

“I would like to invite both companies to submit to us iyong mga bagong towers na naitayo na nila. And I really want them to commit kung kailan sila magkakaroon ng mas mabuting serbisyo,” Palace Spokesman Harry Roque said in a televised Palace press briefing last Tuesday.

This follows new reports that DITO Telecommunity is starting the pilot test run of its network to select users in Mindanao in time for its scheduled March 2021 commercial launch. Both Globe and Smart are hard at work in expanding its coverage and improving its services. Aside from expanding 5G coverage, both telco companies have been building new towers to ease network congestion in high traffic areas.
