Razer And Fossil Launch Limited Edition Smartwatch

Razer has partnered with Fossil to release their version of the Gen 6 Smartwatch, with a limited production run of 1,337 units. Announced at CES 2022, it’s expected that this will run out of stock mere moments after its online release on the 10th of January.

According to a report by Android Authority, the smartwatch will be based on the Gen 6 smartwatch Fossil currently makes with some tweaks. This means the 44mm case and 1.28 inch AMOLED display are carried over from the original.

The wearable comes installed with Google Wear OS 2, with an update to Wear OS 3 inevitable for the year 2022. This means that you get all the customizability from a Wear OS watch, as well as basic features including notifications, updates, and advanced health monitoring (using the Sp02, heart rate sensors), among others. Three watch faces make this smartwatch unique though – the Razer-only Analog, Text, and Chroma designs.

Powering this tiny package is the Snapdragon 4100 Plus. It’s a Snapdragon Wear processor with Ultra-Low-Power (ULP) capabilities for battery efficiency, but powerful enough to keep everything smooth. Razer claims that it’s 30% faster than the previous 5th generation Fossil Watch, which housed the Snapdragon 3100.

Other specifications include NFC, a built-in microphone, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. No worries with the watch getting wet as it comes with a submersion rating of 3ATM.
