The 2022 COMELEC Precinct Finder Is Now Up… Mostly

After experiencing some minor technical hiccups these past few days, the Department of Information and Communications (DICT) and (Commission on Elections) COMELEC have finally launched the 2022 COMELEC Precinct Finder. This website was built to help netizens find their specific polling areas well ahead of election day.

The website is called the Voter Verifier which we’ll link for you to click on right here. When the site opens, registered voters will be asked to input information in order to ensure that they are eligible. Pieces of information asked for include Full Name, Place of Registration, and Location, among others. This should lead site users to the window above, which displays the nearest (and assigned) polling station where they can vote on election day.

These sites are part of the overall online system the COMELEC has built with the DICT handling implementation. Unfortunately, it has not gone as smoothly as expected since the site still refuses to open on some devices. This could be caused by the expected surge of traffic since a lot of people heard about the site’s launch.

We are all eagerly awaiting for DICT to address the issues so that there are minimal inconveniences on election day. The state of this site until then could be the main difference between an efficient polling process or a total mess. Hopefully, we don’t experience another data breach hacking like in 2016. We’ll be sure to provide updates on the COMELEC Precinct Finder or its sister programs in the future.
