The Big Announcements from PSX 2016

Playstation Experience 2016 is in full swing in the US and we’re already hearing a lot of good things. To save you the trouble of sifting through the web, here’s a rundown of some of the biggest announcements coming straight from the Anaheim Convention Center.

The Last of Us: Part 2

If you haven’t finished playing The Last of Us: Remastered, the team at Naughty Dog just gave you even more incentive to do so. The sequel to what is probably one of the best games to ever hit the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 is getting a sequel that is set a few years after the events of the first game. It will still feature protagonists Joel and Ellie, but this time around Ellie will be taking more of the front seat. The team at Naughty Dog isn’t prepared to give a launch date on The Last of Us: Part 2 but we will definitely be waiting for this one.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

More news from Naughty Dog, as they reveal a standalone adventure for Uncharted called – The Lost Legacy. The Lost Legacy DLC will focus on characters Chloe Frazier and Nadine Ross. Gameplay will, of course, be along the lines of the Uncharted we know, but the characters are said to be less brawly than Nathan Drake. The setting for this adventure will be in India and will be steeped in its mythology and Hinduism.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite

This is definitely big news to fighting game aficionados. Capcom has been rumored to be working on Marvel vs. Capcom 4 and it seems like the rumors were correct, except for the name. The next title in the series that saw members of the X-Men fighting the likes of Zangief and Sagat is going to be called Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite and the trailer that sees Ryu and Megaman team up against Captain Marvel and Ironman is amazing. To keep interest going, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will also be available on the PSN Store starting today.

Knack 2

Knack is a brilliant platformer that should be a staple in any Playstation owner’s gaming library and it’s getting a sequel! What’s new this time around? Co-op gameplay! No release date has been set for Knack 2, but the trailer looks awesome.

Horizon Zero Dawn

Not really an announcement here. Horizon Zero Dawn has been on our collective radars for quite sometime, but new trailers for upcoming triple A titles are always big news. Here’s the new trailer for Horizon Zero Dawn, which is set to be released on February 28, 2017. We seriously cannot wait to play this.

Two Playstation Classic Remasters: Crash Bandicoot and Wipeout

Two remasters for classic Playstation titles were also announced at PSX 2016, Crash Bandicoot: The N.Sane Trilogy and…

WipEout Omega Collection, which is perhaps one of the very first racing games we ever played on a Sony console aside from Gran Turismo.

There are a bunch of other announcements coming from the Anaheim Convention Center for PSX 2016 and if there’s anything majorly ground breaking, you’ll definitely be hearing from us again. For now we shall return into our caves to finish off Final Fantasy XV.
