The Toyota GAZOO Racing Gran Turismo Cup recently came to an exciting conclusion at the Clark International Speedway. A total of 16 e-racers duked it out on the virtual Fuji International Speedway and Suzuka Circuit Speedway tracks in high-performance monsters like the GR Yaris and GR Supra models. Here are the results of the Toyota GR GT Cup PH, as well as what’s next for these aspiring drivers.

Up in the Sporting class, we saw TGR Vios Cup veteran and champion Estefano Rivera stand atop the podium with his supreme skill. Following in second and third respectively are Russel Reyes and Jether Miole, who are still admirable for finishing so highly. In the Promotional Class meanwhile, up-and-coming racer Topher Tejada took the crown with Matthew Spencer Ang and Aaron Christian Asence right behind him.

Three were chosen to represent the PH in the Toyota GR GT Cup Asia Regional Rounds – namely Sporting Class champion and runner-up Rivera and Reyes, while Tejada was also called to suit up for the country. They will race under the banner of Team Toyota Philippines against the best e-racers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand. This is definitely one of the prizes for working hard to clinch the top spot in the country, with the last spot being given to the Sporting Class Runner Up as he is determined to be the third-best driver among the pool of players.

Despite this preparation period, the PH representatives for the Toyota GR GT Cup Asia Regional Rounds made an appearance at the Philippine International Motor Show that occurred last week. Lucky visitors even got to play with them and witness their skills firsthand, displaying the gap between the average sim racer and a champion.
