What’s in my bag?
Reviewing gadgets, covering events, understanding the latest tech innovations: These are among the many things we do here in Unbox. Along with that, we need a bunch of gear to make sure we deliver the best possible content to you guys. For my version of my bag raid, I’m sharing my top essentials, along with a few gadgets that are being put into the wringer to see if it is a highly recommended device. Check it out:
Salvatore Mann Backpack
Considering its design, a lot of my friends are surprised with what this bag can carry. Yes, for the past few months, I have been using this bag to carry my laptop, my camera gear, my bag of cables, and a few extra clothes in times I am on the go during event coverages. Also, its gray and brown color scheme, along with its leatherette outer shell, makes it a sophisticated and fashionable bag as well.
Canon EOS 7D
I have been a Canon user since my grade school days where I would snap photos using a Prima film camera. These days, I would use my 7D, along with a 28mm 1.8 USM lens, for most event and product shoots. The 7D has been through a lot since owning it for the past 6 years, and that includes several instances where I was shooting under the rain. Yes, this DSLR is built like a tank, surviving several challenging photography situations.
ASUS ZenFone 4
I have been using this as a daily driver lately, and to be honest it is a performer. With a Snapdragon 660 processor, 6GB of RAM, 64GB Internal storage, and flagship-level Sony cameras, the ZenFone 4 can rival some high-end smartphones from other brands. While I like how the phone performs overall, I still pray and wish that ASUS would announce a price drop, as the ZenFone 4 is priced too high if you consider its rivals.

Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie
Since I have two numbers, I use this as my secondary phone. Don’t get me wrong: This Cherry Mobile phone is one of their more impressive budget smartphones, as it has one of the best-performing cameras for its price range. The Samsung ISOCELL cameras do perform really well, and Cherry’s CherryOS overlay is an added bonus to this phone.

Tronsmart Desktop Charger and Presto Power Bank
Running out of power in the middle of an event coverage is always a nightmare, and these power essentials from Tronsmart are a must-have in my bag. The Desktop charger is my all-in-one charging solution for all of my USB-powered gadgets; I get to charge 5 devices while using only one power outlet, which is handy especially when I work in places that have a limited amount of power outlets.
The Presto Power Bank, on the other hand, is equipped with two USB ports, with one having Qualcomm’s Quick Charge tech so that I can juice up my phones as fast as possible.

Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch (Mid-2015)
Quick trivia: I have been an Apple user since the first Intel MacBooks in 2007, and I still use Macbooks up to this day. With the number of laptops out there, I still prefer using Apple as OSX (which is now MacOS) is streamlined and optimized for doing a lot of productivity and multimedia work.
Currently, my workhorse is a Mid-2015 MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch, which for me is the last of the best MacBook Pros out there: You have a speedy SSD drive and a powerful Quad Core i7 processor inside, along with a large battery that can last for as long as 8 hours on regular use. If you ask me, I prefer this over the newer Touchbar MacBook Pro as this has a complete set of ports, saving me from buying expensive USB-C dongles.
Seagate Expansion 1TB Hard Drive
With the number of photos, videos, and articles I do on a daily basis, it is easy to fill up my MacBook Pro’s 256GB SSD drive. To address that, I have a few external hard drives with me. For my backpack, I bring along this 1TB Seagate Expansion hard drive, which contains an archive of all the photos I took since I had my first DSLR (fun fact: My first DSLR was an EOS 400D back in 2007), along with several important files and a few movies to keep me entertained during idle times which is kind of rare these days.
