Why the Toyota Fortuner is the Chosen Companion of Most Filipinos

With the number of Toyota vehicles out on the roads, it goes without saying that Toyota is the number one car brand in the Philippines. By being the top brand, many vehicles in their lineup are usually the best-selling vehicle in their respective segments. Such is the case with the Toyota Fortuner, which is the number one best-selling vehicle in the 7-seater SUV segment in the country.  Read on to find out why many Filipinos are going with the Toyota Fortuner.

The Toyota Fortuner embodies Toyota’s “kaizen” philosophy. The word kaizen is a Japanese term that means constant improvement. In other words, you are sure to get top-notch quality in every Toyota vehicle. This philosophy helped the Fortuner to be hailed as the best-selling SUV in the Philippines, selling more than 230,000 units since 2005.

One of the best things about the Toyota Fortuner is its reliability. An owner named Arch. Wilbye Manlutac said that he can attest to the reliability and trustworthiness of his SUV.

“My family first owned a 2007 model of the Fortuner before switching to the 2018 model. The older model’s reliability and efficiency served as our main reason for getting the newer version.” Arch. Wilbye shared. “Having experienced two models of the Fortuner, I can say that Toyota does an amazing job designing cars that deliver on both function and form. Luxury and comfort are definitely something that the Fortuner offers at the perfect balance.”

Indeed, Toyota vehicles are known for their exceptional reliability. Together with a very capable engine—4-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC Variable Nozzle Turbo with air-cooled intercooler—the Toyota Fortuner has secured the crown as the best SUV in the Philippines. The remarkable safety features are just icing on top. For safety, some variants are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, which equips the Fortuner with Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Select variants even come equipped with a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM), a Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

Having said all that, many find the Toyota  Fortuner the perfect all-rounder SUV. One of them is Crysler David, a Toyota Fortuner owner since 2019. He said the Toyota Fortuner is a worthy companion for daily journeys or even for new adventures.

“My fondest memories with Lisha (my Fortuner’s name) are the long drives I’ve taken with it. Driving Lisha to exciting places like La Union and Pangasinan with my friends is always an adventure,” Crysler said.

This doesn’t come as a surprise since Toyota Fortuners come with a lot of niceties for more convenient road trips. Aside from the spacious trunk, select variants come with leather seats, an interior illumination system, and a 9-speaker JBL sound system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatibility. These are the perfect ingredients for a nice out-of-town drive.

All in all, it’s not difficult to understand why the Toyota Fortuner is well-loved by many Filipinos. It has all the qualities necessary for a segment leader, such as performance, reliability, versatility, luxury, and top-notch quality. It simply ticks all the boxes.
