What is the Best Budget Fiber Plan in 2025?

Converge, Globe, and PLDT updated their fiber plans for the first half of 2025 with better speeds and inclusions. Converge and PLDT has Plan 1599 as their base fiber plan, while Globe has Plan 1499 instead. Which base fiber plan from the 3 telcos offer better value? Let’s take a look:

Converge

Now called Super FiberX Max, this fiber plan from Converge promises speeds of up to 400Mbps. Inclusions for this plan is a Converge Xperience Hub, which is an Android TV box, access to Blast TV, a WiFi 6 router, and a SkyTV plan with 54 channels.

An alternate option is FiberX Netflix 1558, which promises speeds of up to 200Mbps, a Converge Xperience Hub, a WiFi 6 router, and a Netflix Basic plan.

PLDT

Their new Fiber Netflix Plan 1599 promises speeds of up to 150Mbps, with a boost to 300Mbps for the first 6 months. You get a Netflix basic account with Plan 1599, along with unlimited mobile calls to five assigned Smart and TNT mobile numbers.

Alternatively, PLDT has Fiber Unli Plan 1699 that offers speeds of up to 300Mbps (boosted to 500Mbps for the first 6 months) along with unlimited mobile calls to five assigned Smart and TNT mobile numbers. Both PLDT fiber plans come with a WiFi 6 router.

Globe

Unlike PLDT and Converge, Globe only offers one GFiber Plan at the same price point. Their Plan 1499 promises speeds of up to 300Mbps and includes access to Blast TV, a Disney+ Basic Annual Plan, WiFi 6 modem, and no lock-up period for a limited time. To make its fiber plans competitive, Globe offers a Php 1 cashout for its more affordable offerings like GFiber Plan 1499.

Which one offers the best value?

If you’re looking at a price per Mbps standpoint without any speed boost, Converge has the best option with Super FiberX Max with speeds topping at 400Mbps. Aside from that, Converge’s FiberX Max has added value with the inclusion of a SkyTV plan for watching content without subscribing to a streaming service.

The same can be said with fiber plans bundled with Netflix–Converge offers better price per Mbps, though PLDT has a slight lead with its 6 months speed boost. PLDT’s fiber plans also favor those households that have Smart or TNT numbers, with 5 of them eligible for unlimited calls.

As for Globe, it’s main selling point for now its its no lock up policy, which means that users don’t need to be locked into a contract when availing of a GFiber plan. It is also the only fiber plan available that has Disney+ bundled instead of Netflix.
