Alcatel Announces New Smartphone Offerings
Alcatel beefs up their line-up with the announcement of two new slim and lightweight smartphones: the Alcatel One Touch Idol S and the Alcatel One Touch Idol Mini. Okay wait… you’re probably thinking “haven’t I seen the Mini attached to other brands before?” Yes, with Samsung and HTC. It looks like it’s now an industry standard, lol. Anyway, let’s quickly take a look at both devices.
The Alcatel One Touch Idol S is significantly an improvement from the first generation OT Idol. It has a 4.7 inch display, a slightly bigger 1.2 GHz dual core processor (improvement from 1GHz dual core processor from Alcatel One Touch Idol), 8 megapixel camera, and running Android 4.2 Jellybean. The device will be come in 3 colors – Slate, Fresh Rose, and Cherry Red.

The entry level Alcatel One Touch Idol Mini is sporting a smaller 4.3 inch display, 1.3 GHz dual core processor, 512MB RAM, 5 megapixel camera and running Android 4.2 Jellybean. The Idol Mini will also come in dual sim variant and lacks external storage. Meaning, you’ll get stuck with the phone’s 8GB onboard storage. It will come in three colors – Cranberry Pink, Silver and Slate.
