Alcatel Goes Quad Cameras With The Flash (2017)

Forget dual-cameras, this phone has four

After Flash split from Alcatel last year and announced their own device, dubbed the Flash 2, we really haven’t heard from the company since. Well, it looks like their parent company has re-acquired the brand, and has released a new, updated version of the Flash for 2017.

Alcatel Flash (2017) Specs

The new phone takes the concept of multiple front and rear cameras and takes it up a notch, combining two rear and two front cameras. Yes, you read that right – this phone has not two, not three, but four cameras combined.

The Alcatel Flash (2017) has two rear cameras, with one being a 13-megapixel sensor and a one being a 13-megapixel monochrome sensor. The rear snappers get f/2.0 aperture, 6-element lens, PDAF capability, 4K video recording plus a dual tone LED flash.

The front cameras meanwhile, get an 8-megapixel shooter with a 5-megapixel secondary camera, f/2.0 aperture lens, PDAF and dual tone LED flash. Both cameras utilize the same artifical bokeh system that blurs out the background of shots, ala Huawei’s P10.

On the inside, you’re looking at a 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. There’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board, along with LTE and a fingerprint sensor on the rear and a USB Type-C connector. The phone has a 3100mAh battery inside to keep the lights on.
