Alcatel One Touch Idol and One Touch Idol Ultra coming to the Philippines?
We received an invitation from the good folks of Alcatel Philippines for an event later this month. On the invite it said that a “new idol” is coming which is a play on the name of the Alcatel smartphone that was revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. Called the Alcatel One Touch Idol, this smartphone has a dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 4.66-inches qHD display with Dragontrail Glass, and an 8-megapixel snapper. There’s also a higher end model dubbed the Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra which has an HD AMOLED display (otherwise the same insides).

There’s no word yet on local pricing but according to what we’ve found online this phone is being sold in the Netherlands for over 265 euros. That comes out to around Php14,000 directly converted. Hopefully the final SRP is lower though since that’s a bit steep given the spec sheet and the offerings of other competitors.
