Alcatel’s upcoming IDOL 5S handset was spotted at Geekbench recently and it’s sporting a different processor brand than its predecessor, last year’s VR-oriented IDOL 4S. Let’s see what’s changed from the fourth iteration. Unfortunately, the Geekbench listing barely describes the key specs of the upcoming handset.
Edit: It’s indeed packing a MediaTek Helio P10, sorry for the confusion with the hyperlink!

Alcatel IDOL 5S (Benchmark Specs)
- MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor
- ARM Mali-T860 GPU
- 3GB RAM
- Android 7.0 Nougat
Given its processor make, it’s safe to say that the IDOL 5S will not be packing a dual camera setup as the Helio P10 does not have support for it. Last year’s IDOL 4S came out with an impressive 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display, so we’re expecting a similar tier of display for this one.
The Alcatel IDOL 5 and 5S is expected to be unveiled at MWC at the end of this month, so let’s just wait it out for more hardware details.
