Why????

For whatever reason, the folks over at Alcatel have released a monster tablet that’ll end all monster tablets. Meet the OneTouch Xess, a tablet that has a massive 17.3-inch full HD display. We’re not entirely sure what niche or target market the Xess is aiming for, but know that the massive tablet is powered by MediaTek’s octa-core MT8783T 1.5GHz processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The Xess has an integrated kickstand on the back so it can stand up on its own, on various angles – 30, 50 and 70 degrees.

Alcatel wants the Xess to become a centerpiece in your home, as the big screen allows multiple people to watch movies and video clips on it without too much problems, with the sound taken care of by dual JBL (by Harman) speakers. Culinary enthusiasts would also probably like the Xess around, as Alcatel has put in gesture support into the tablet to navigate through it without touching the screen. Pair a half-decent Bluetooth keyboard with the Xess, and it might even be a decent Android-powered (5.1 Lollipop) desktop. If you do ever decide to take this monstrosity around, know that the Xess has a massive 10,000mAh battery inside to power it away from the socket.
