Android One gets a spec bump

Google is expected to reveal a new Android One device on July 29. Today, information about the next generation Android One device, known as the Lava Pixel V1, has been leaked ahead of the unveil. According to the leaks, the new Android One device will be bigger, better and faster than the original, sporting a nicer design and better specs.

Lava Pixel V1 specs

For starters, the Lava Pixel V1 is quite a looker, and if the renders are to be believed, will sport thin bezels. It will have a bigger 5.5-inch HD display compared to the 4.5-inch FWVGA displays of the original Android One phones, and will now sport a 64-bitQualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor instead of a MediaTek one, paired with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a 13-megapixel rear camera with an aperture of f/2.0. A 2650mAh battery rounds the specs, along with Android 5.1 (naturally).

Since the Lava Pixel V1 is part of the Android One initiative, it’s guaranteed to get at least two years’ worth of Android updates straight from Google, which should start with Android M. Unfortunately it seems like the Lava Pixel V1 is a 3G only phone, and will be priced higher at around $177 or around 8K.
