Apple Announces Colorful, Redesigned iMac with M1 Processor

Apple continues is transition to its in-house silicon with an all-new iMac M1. What is arguably the biggest redesign to Apple’s all-in-one desktop in years, the iMac M1 is incredibly thin at 11.5mm and that’s because Apple’s M1 chip uses a smaller logic board, allowing the Cupertino-based brand to shrink the iMac’s depth further.

Apple iMac M1 Specs

With the new redesign, the iMac M1 pays tribute to the earlier iMacs by bringing back color options. For the first time in quite a while, users can choose between green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, or the tried-and-tested silver.

On the internals, the new iMac comes with an Apple M1 processor, along with up to 16GB RAM and up to 2TB internal storage. For ports, the entry-level model gets two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports while the mid-range and top-end variants get an additional 2 USB-C 3.0 ports and an Ethernet port that is built into its power supply.

The display is also now bigger, as you get a 24-inch Retina display with a 4.5k resolution, P3 Color Gamut, and Apple’s True Tone tech. On top of it is a FaceTime HD ready webcam for your video calls. To make your video calls better, the iMac M1 gets a studio-quality 3-mic array and a six-speaker sound system.

The keyboard also gets a redesign as well, as it gets a color-coded aluminum chassis and TouchID for the mid-end and top-end models.
