With many brands having their own foldable phone ever since Samsung started the trend, many have been waiting for Apple to enter the foldable game. The wait might not be long: according to rumors, it seems that Apple is planning to launch two foldable devices in 2026: an iPhone and an iPad/Mac hybrid device.

Apple has signed a panel supply contract for its first foldable iPhone, expected in late 2026, and is also developing an iPad/MacBook hybrid device with an 18.8-inch display.
Analyst Jeff Pu reports that these devices may come in 2026 and predicts that the iPad/Mac hybrid to debut in Q2 2026, followed by the iPhone in Q4 2026. However, no additional details were given regarding the devices.
The reports also suggest that the Cupertino-based company plans to introduce radical changes to its product line, including the iPad/Mac hybrid and foldable display but may do so in small quantities to test how the market will react to these new products. If that sounds familar, that’s the same approach that Apple did with the Vision Pro.

There is still a long way to go before we see any official details regarding these devices and how they will compete with the current foldable devices available in the market–but at least it gives us something to look forward with Apple beyond iterative updates to the iPhone.
