The Fonepad 7 just got better

Asus has officially launched the successor of their successful Fonepad 7 – the Fonepad 7 Dual-SIM. As the name suggests, Asus has thrown in dual-SIM capability into the Fonepad 7, as well as increasing the core count to two (technically 4 because of Intel’s hyper threading technology).

Asus Fonepad 7 specs

It’s no secret that Asus and Intel have a very good relationship, which explains why Asus went with their Clover Trail+ solution in the FonePad 7. Unlike other Intel powered tablets that we’ve seen lately, the FonePad 7 Dual-SIM has a slower, Z2520 processor clocked at only 1.2GHz. It’d be interesting to see what kind of performance the Fonepad 7 Dual-SIM gets compared to the other Intel-powered tablets out there. Like Asus’ other tablets, the Fonepad 7 Dual-SIM uses the company’s UI overlay.

As far as the price is concerned, you’re looking at around Php 8,995 for the Fonepad 7 Dual-SIM, which puts it roughly the same price category as other, Intel Atom equipped tablets that we’ve talked about recently.

Asus is also throwing in a free Smart Bro SIM with 50 MB of data good for three months, as well as 6 month subscription to Trend Micro’s Mobile Security for Android devices.
