ASUS’ Zen line expands to tablets
ASUS has officially announced a new line of premium tablets alongside the Zenfone Selfie in COMPUTEX today. The Zenpad, which is available in a number of sizes ranging from the 7-inch ZenPad 7.0 Z370C/CG/CL, 8-inch ZenPad 8.0 Z380C/KL, ZenPad S 8.0 Z580C/CA with optional Z Stylus, and the 10-inch ZenPad 10.1 Z300C/CG/CL.
The ZenPad 8.0 uses an embossed leather pattern on the outside, with premium styling influenced by fasioh accessories, according to ASUS. The ZenPad is also supposedly the first tablet ever to feature an interchangeable cover design that allows users to swap out the back of the tablet with the cover of their liking.
The ZenPad S 8 takes the experience up a notch, featuring a Zen-inspired design with a metallic finish and diamond-cut edges. The Zenpad S 8 is just 6.6mm thin, and features a 2K display and Intel’s Atom Z3580 processor. Following the footsteps of the Zenfone 2, the ZenPad S 8.0 has 4GB of RAM, a first for a tablet.
Just like the Zenfone Selfie, ASUS has not set price or availability for the new tablets.
