ASUS Transformer Book Trio

ASUS delivered a lot of surprises in their media event at Computex in Taiwan. One of the more innovative and unique products they unveiled was the ASUS Transformer Book Trio. This gadget aims to deliver three computing experiences in one product: notebook, desktop, and tablet. It does that by offering two operating systems — Windows 8 and Android. Huwaaaaat?!

Eh? How did they do that?

The ASUS Transformer Book Trio has an 11.6-inch Full HD IPS detachable display with full Android Jelly Bean tablet internals. It has an Intel 2.0GHz Atom processor, 64GB SSD storage, and runs on Android Jelly Bean. You get full access to all the apps offered by Google Play. So that’s the tablet part. How about the PC and Notebook?

It comes with a PC docking station which has PC internals inside including a 4th generation Intel i7 Core CPU, 750GB storage, and the Windows 8 operating system. Need a PC or Notebook? Dock it. Need an Android tablet? Pull the display out. It’s that easy, lol.

Very interesting proposition with this product. Got us genuinely curious and interested

Here’s a rundown of the specs:

No word yet on pricing and availability. We have a strong feeling though that if priced correctly this one can actually sell pretty well even locally. There’s a big space right now open for high-end PC laptops. Maybe this is one of the devices that can actually get some market share.
