CloudFone Thrill 600FHD Unboxing: The Biggest CloudFone yet

Cloudfone Thrill 600FHD 09

We unbox the CloudFone Thrill 600FHD!

A few days ago we reported on CloudFone’s biggest Android offering yet: the Thrill 600 FHD. The Thrill 600 FHD is the company’s biggest and most expensive Android smartphone so far, so we were interested to put it through its paces to see where it stacks up compared to the competition. CloudFone sent a device over to us and today we’ll be taking a quick look at what’s in the box and checking its initial performance numbers.

Packaging and contents

The Thrill 600FHD comes in CloudFone’s typical white and yellow box, with the specs printed out on the back to tell you exactly what you’re getting with the device.

In the box is the headphones, USB power cable, USB OTG cable, as well as a charger and the user manual.

Initial Impressions: nice solidly built device with small bezels

We were pleasantly surprised to see that the Thrill 600FHD was a rather handsome device, which we didn’t expect based on the photos sent to us by CloudFone. While it’s rather large because of its 6-inch display, it’s probably a milimiter or two away from the size of the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro that we’re currently reviewing, which is another smartphone with a 6-inch display. The bezels on the side, top and bottom of the Thrill 600FHD are rather small, which makes the device easy to grip in one hand, though two handed operation will still be the norm when you try to use it.

The majority of the materials used to make the Thrill 600FHD is plastic, though there’s a small sliver of metal (probably aluminum) that’s layered on top of the plastic case of the device.

The battery is none-removable, and is a 3000mAh deal. The two SIM trays are located on the left side of the phone, while the volume rocker and power button are located on the right. The 3.5mm jack is on the top, while the USB port is located at the bottom of the device.

When CloudFone sent the spec sheet of the Thrill 600FHD to us a few days ago, we noticed that the company said that the 13-megapixel camera on the Thrill 600FHD was a fixed focus affair. That’s not true – the camera on the Thrill 600FHD is capable of focusing on subjects both near and far.

As far as performance is concerned, you’re looking at the same performance from other devices that have roughly the same hardware specs. MediaTek’s 1.7GHz octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM manages to put out decent numbers in AnTuTU as well as Geek Bench, which isn’t surprising.

That’s it for this unboxing.
