First Shots: Samsung Galaxy M20

We take a look at the cameras on this budget phone!

Samsung’s intent on recapturing lost ground in the budget and mid-range segment, and leading the charge is the newest member of their Galaxy, the M20.

The Galaxy M20 runs respectable mid-range internals, as well as a dual-camera setup that uses a 13-megapixel camera with an f/1.9 aperture, along with a 5-megapixel wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

We took a few photos with the cameras on the Galaxy M20, which you can see below:

The cameras on the Galaxy M20 perform pretty well in bright light, though some photos were a little too soft for our taste. Photos of the cat under the shade had a little detail loss, which is a little concerning, considering the phone supposedly has a f/1.9 aperture on the phone’s primary camera.

The secondary wide-angle sensor looks ok, though we wouldn’t use it in challenging lighting thanks to its less than ideal f/2.2 aperture lens.

All in all the camera on the Galaxy M20 is good, but not great, which is pretty much par for the course for a budget phone. We’ll have to see in our full review if the cameras on this budget device are worth it.

The Galaxy M20 is priced at Php 10,990.
