Google Unveils the Mid-Range Pixel 3a Family

Google finally joins the mid-range competition

To supplement its phone offerings, Google joins the mid-range segment with the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. While both phones share features found on its more expensive siblings like a Titan Security chip, USB-C, eSim support, and a 12-megapixel f/1.8 rear camera with EIS, OIS, and Night Sight, Google made some compromises to the Pixel 3a and 3a XL to keep it affordable.

These include a downgrade to USB 2.0, no IP rating, plastic build, no support for wireless charging and Daydream VR, and a single front camera. However, both Pixel 3a models come with a headphone jack.

The Pixel 3a comes with a 5.6-inch OLED display and is powered by a Snapdragon 670 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Keeping the lights on is a 3000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

The bigger Pixel 3a XL sports a 6-inch OLED display and is powered by a Snapdragon 710 processor. It comes with a 3700mAh battery. Both phones come with Android Pie out of the box with 3 years of guaranteed updates.
