GoPro has officially taken the wraps off of their new Hero 7 action cameras. Leading the charge is the new Hero 7 Black. While the $399 action camera looks a lot like the Hero 6, it sports several new features: super-smooth image stabilization thanks to the company’s HyperSmooth technology, TimeWarp which is essentially Instagram’s Hyperlapse as well as a new 4K, 60 frame-per-second recording capability.

There’s also a vertical video shooting mode (blech), and livestreaming capabilities as well. Smart scene recognition and an improved image capture mode, as well as full HD 240 FPS shooting make the Hero 7 Black the most powerful action camera that GoPro’s ever made.

The Hero 7 Silver is a little cheaper ($299) than the Hero 7 Black but still has quite a few features. While there’s no HyperSmooth tech or 4K 60 FPS capture, it still boasts improved video stabilization as well as voice control and vertical video capture. The $199 Hero 7 White is the bottom tier of GoPro’s new action cameras, and sheds 4K shooting which basically means you’re stuck shooting in full HD 60FPS.
