HMD Global Launches New Android One Phones in the Philippines

Three Android One phones catering to different price brackets

HMD Global finally brought its 2019 line of Android One Nokia smartphones to the Philippines with the Nokia 8.1, Nokia 3.2, and Nokia 2.2.

Leading the pack is the premium mid-range Nokia 8.1, which boasts of a premium chamfered aluminum chassis and a glass back. As a premium device, the Nokia 8.1 gets a bunch of goodies like its HDR10-certified PureDisplay screen, dual Zeiss cameras, and 3500mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

Next up is the budget mid-range Nokia 3.2. Introduced during MWC 2019, the Nokia 3.2 is the brand’s first phone with a dewdrop notch and a dedicated Google Assistant button. The Nokia 3.2 aims to be a battery beast with its 4000mAh battery, power-efficient Snapdragon 429 processor, and 6.26-inch HD+ display.

Completing the launch is the entry-level Nokia 2.2, touted as the most affordable Android One smartphone in the market. It is more compact than the Nokia 3.2 with its 5.7-inch HD+ display and shares the same design elements—including the dedicated Google Assistant button. Powering the Nokia 2.2 is an Helio A22 processor paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.

The Nokia 8.1 is priced at Php 19,990 while the Nokia 3.2 is priced at Php 7,990. The Nokia 2.2, on the other hand, is priced at Php 5,990. The Nokia 8.1 will be exclusive Lazada while the Nokia 3.2 will be exclusive to Shopee. The Nokia 2.2 will be available at all authorized Nokia resellers both online and in-store.

The first 700 customers purchasing the Nokia 8.1 will get a travel voucher worth Php 1m000 and a Nokia VIP card for special treatment in aftersales services, along with free shipping for the first 300 customers. The Nokia 3.2 comes with a Shopee voucher worth Php 1,000 with every purchase.

All three phones will be available starting July 19.
