HTC Announces One M9

HTC-One-M9 (2)

Evolution or Iteration?

HTC’s officiallly taken the wraps off of the One M9 earlier today, and it looks like the company has favored the “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it” school of thought in terms of overall design. If you’re not intimately familiar with the One M8, you’d probably hard-pressed to find the differences in design for the One M9, though there are certainly differences. The body is slightly smaller and narrower than the previous iteration. Probably the biggest change is the removal of the dual-camera setup on the back, replaced this time around with a more traditional looking single-lens array.

HTC One M9 Specs

Powering the M9 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. In a world where more and more flagships are upgrading their displays with QHD panels, the One M9 still uses a 5-inch, full HD display.

Other specs include a 20-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and a front facing camera that uses HTC’s UltraPixel tech with a f/2.0 aperture. Battery is around 2840mAh, and the device comes with Android 5.0.2 with the company’s Sense UI overlay.

The device will be hitting stores in Asia later this month, though we don’t have a price for the device as of yet.
