After announcing the Nova 8 SE last November, Huawei completes the Nova 8 lineup with the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro. Both phones are powered by a 5G-ready Kirin 985 processor that is paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage. Both phones also get 66w wired charging, 32-megapixel front camera, and a uniquely-designed rear camera setup that comprises of a 64-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, 2-megapixel macro camera, and 2-megapixel depth sensor.
What are the differences between the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro then? Here are the key differences:
- Display. While both have curved OLED panels, the Nova 8 has a smaller 6.53-inch Full HD+ display with a 90hz refresh rate and 240hz touch response rate, while the Nova 8 Pro gets a bigger 6.72-inch display with 120hz refresh rate and 300hz touch response rate.
- Punch hole. The Nova 8 has a centrally-placed punch-hole, while the Nova 8 Pro has a pill-shaped punch-hole to hold the additional 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle selfie snapper.
- Battery. Because of their difference in size, the Nova 8 has a 3800mAh battery, while the Nova 8 Pro gets a bigger 4000mAh battery.
- Main rear camera. Both may have the same sensor, but the Nova 8 Pro has a brighter f/1.8 aperture compared to the f/1.9 opening on the vanilla model.
