Looks like Huawei is putting fingerprint scanners on their mid-range phones

Huawei has officially unveiled their mid-range G8 yesterday. The new phone sports many of the same features of their higher-end models, chiefly a metal build and a fingerprint scanner on the back. The G8 sports a 5.5-inch full HD display, paired with a mid-range Qualcomm 615 processor and Adreno 405 GPU.

Huawei will be offering the G8 in two distinct configurations: a 2GB RAM/16GB storage combo and a higher, 3GB RAM/32GB storage option. Users that want to get the more affordable 16GB version won’t have to worry about running out of storage space as the G8 sports a microSD slot that supports 64GB microSD cards.

A 13-megapixel rear camera graces the back, while a 5-megapixel camera snapper takes care of selfies and video chats. The G8 has a 3000mAh battery, and Android 5.1 powers the phone, along with Huawei’s EMUI overlay. The phone is set to retail around $370 (17K) for the 2GB RAM version, while you can expect to shell out around $434 (20K) for the 3GB RAM version.
