Intel Reveals 8th Gen Desktop Chips

More muscle to do more things

Intel has officially taken the wraps off of new 8th generation desktop processors recently, which includes several key SKUs including their top of the line Core i7 processors. With AMD’s new Ryzen processors breathing down their neck, Intel has made sure to increase the core count and performance of its key pieces of silicone to combat their rival’s offerings.

Starting from the top, the company introduced their new 6-core/12-thread Core i7-8700K, which they claim to be their best gaming chip ever. The new processor offers around 25 percent more frames per second when measured against the previous processor the Core i7-7700K running Gears of War 4. The new processor is also more adept at multi-tasking, and is capable of better performance while streaming games – 45 percent better in fact, compared to the 7th gen iteration.

Intel has also updated its Core i5 family by upgrading them to 6-cores instead of the 4 that was present on the last generation. Even the low-end Core i3 gets a boost, and are now quad-core processors in the new family. Check out the suggest pricing in USD below:
